If you use the brilliant generic WDM drivers for bt8x8 chipset based TV cards from Eduardo over at http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/, you may experiences system crashes or worse things if you use programs like DScaler which ship with an own driver.
If you still want to use those applications, just use BtWinCapSwitcher and choose "set to compatibility mode". If a message pops up which asks you to reboot to make the changes effective, everything worked fine. If the program just closes, it didn't find the necessary registry keys to modify.
